The Deering Estate is an historical and environmental showcase, offering visitors a view of turn-of-the-20th-century buildings and important archaeological sites that date human habitation to 10,000 years ago. Visitors may also take in forests featuring pine, hardwood and mangrove trees, as well as salt marshes and a coastal dune island. It lies just southwest of Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club.
